I tried a new technique recently with the crayon wax. I had seen many different pieces with umbrellas and the wax dripping around them. I tried it and was almost successful. I think it is still pretty cool and it did not turn out like I thought it would.
Question: I have some metallic crayons that I want to use to make something for myself. I am struggling with what I want to do. What are some scenes that you would like to see? What are your favorite colors? Please let me know in the comments!
Everything happens for a reason, so let the good (and bad) times roll!

Too Long...So Many Changes
Well, it has been almost two months since my last post. Time has gone by really fast. I have graduated from college and have been reminded why my family is so important to me. I have also been reminded that some people just don't care about anyone other than themselves. I feel like I am always competing with those around me. I have not found a "big girl" job and am looking. If you know of any, just let me know. I have discovered a fault that I seem to not be able to get over and that is I cannot tell the ones that I love "no". I feel like I have to do everything they ask to keep them happy and "proud" of me. Why is that? Why can't I accept myself? I almost got ran over by a car that was in too much of a hurry to allow a someone cross the parking lot. Why are people in such a hurry? Don't they know that they must enjoy their life or they will never be happy? Well, I think I have rambled enough. I leave you with this amusing photo.

MackBean Creations: S.T.A.T.
My friend, Sammie who is also a member of S.T.A.T. asked me to help them with a silent auction item. I cannot deny them especially when it allows me to play with crayons. =] I wanted to show everyone the steps I take to make my drip art.
Here is what I hope the piece will look like.
Supplies Needed:
- Canvas (any size works)
- Phrase, words, picture
- Painter's Tape
- Xacto knife
- Crayons
- Paint with brushes
- Hot Glue Gun
Cut phrases into small, workable pieces. Then lay tape down and tape the words on top.
While the paint is drying, you can take the wrapper off the crayons. This will make it easier to put in the hot glue gun.
The next step is to put the crayon in the glue gun and let the wax drip.
After all the crayons have been melted, put the tape off the canvas. Be careful to not pull off the wax!
Final product! I think it looks great!!

1950's Music and Paper
I am working on a paper that is not really a paper. It is a speech written in 1958 to city leaders and parents. I am to explain the merits of rock-n0roll and its place in American popular music and culture. While writing this 4-5 page paper, I have decided to listen to music of that time to get me in the mood. Throughout my time writing, I will list various songs and lyrics that inspire me for my paper ( and some that inspire me all the time)
12:05am--"Hit the Road Jack" by Ray Charles
12:19am--"Sh-Boom" (Life Could Be a Dream)" by The Chords
12:53am--"I Saw Her Standing There" by The Beatles
1:04am--"Let It Be" by The Beatles
1:27am--"Oh Boy!" by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
1:33am--"Summer Lovin'" by Grease
1:37am--"School Days" by Chuck Berry
2:22am--"Stand By Me" by Ben E. King
12:37pm--"Come Go With Me" by The Tokens
1:05pm--"A Teenager in Love" by Dion & The Belmonts
1:13pm--"Mama Said" by The Shirelles
1:15pm--"Then He Kissed Me" by The Crystals
1:27pm--"You Don't Own Me" by Lesley Gore
1:29pm--"Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons
1:43pm--"My Guys" by Mary Wells
1:46pm--"My Girl" by The Temptations
1:56pm--"One Fine Day" by The Chiffons
2:15pm--"That'll Be the Day" by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Paper is now complete. What a good song to end it!! To be honest, it may not be my best paper but I believe in it which is what is important.
What is your favorite band, musician, or song from the 1950s?

I Stink at Life
Soooo that countdown lasted 3 days...
Dance Marathon happened on February 3rd and 4th. I don't really remember much of it because I was so busy but I did have a good time. We raised $1,369,147.18.
