I am working on a paper that is not really a paper. It is a speech written in 1958 to city leaders and parents. I am to explain the merits of rock-n0roll and its place in American popular music and culture. While writing this 4-5 page paper, I have decided to listen to music of that time to get me in the mood. Throughout my time writing, I will list various songs and lyrics that inspire me for my paper ( and some that inspire me all the time)
12:05am--"Hit the Road Jack" by Ray Charles
12:19am--"Sh-Boom" (Life Could Be a Dream)" by The Chords
12:53am--"I Saw Her Standing There" by The Beatles
1:04am--"Let It Be" by The Beatles
1:27am--"Oh Boy!" by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
1:33am--"Summer Lovin'" by Grease
1:37am--"School Days" by Chuck Berry
2:22am--"Stand By Me" by Ben E. King
12:37pm--"Come Go With Me" by The Tokens
1:05pm--"A Teenager in Love" by Dion & The Belmonts
1:13pm--"Mama Said" by The Shirelles
1:15pm--"Then He Kissed Me" by The Crystals
1:27pm--"You Don't Own Me" by Lesley Gore
1:29pm--"Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" by Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons
1:43pm--"My Guys" by Mary Wells
1:46pm--"My Girl" by The Temptations
1:56pm--"One Fine Day" by The Chiffons
2:15pm--"That'll Be the Day" by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Paper is now complete. What a good song to end it!! To be honest, it may not be my best paper but I believe in it which is what is important.
What is your favorite band, musician, or song from the 1950s?
