Day 97: Falbo's Pizza

So I am working at a wedding at Kinnick Stadium and the wonderful Lauren suggests to have yummy pizza...great way to drown our sorrows. I hope to get off in time to enjoy my Saturday night. Luckily, I have some down time and am doing the Operations thing and checking my email. Gotta love GMAIL =] Well, I better check on the party and hit on a groomsmen. Just kidding!!

100 Days until Dance Marathon's Big Event

Today marks 100 days out from the Big Event that I have been working hard for with the help of many other people on Dance Marathon's leadership team. I am going to try to post a picture or video of each remaining days. So here goes:


Day 100:
It is not too late to sign-up and start raising money to attend the Big Event on February 3-4, 2012.

Wow...It's been forever!!!!

Hello!! I know that it has been forever since I last posted...sooooo I am posting this.


What has MackBean been up to since the end of July?
Well, I have had my wisdom teeth out and that was a horrible experience. I was since afterwards and the swelling still hasn't completely gone away. Classes have started and are halfway over now. I like all of my classes. I say almost everyday that I could be in college forever if I didn't have to do homework. Dance Marathon has kept me really busy. Check out our sweet recruitment video HERE. So far we have had a record number of dancers registered!! We also made a $5 million donation over the next 10 years to the new UI Children's Hospital. With that announcement, we got to eat at President Sally Mason's, attend a Press Conference, and get announced (be on the huge screens) at the football game. GO DANCE MARATHON!!!  Lime Days came and went. We had a lot of cool events. One was the flash mob which I think is my favorite. Another love of my life is UI Athletic Ticket Office. We have gotten a lot of new really cool cats to add to the family. I do miss the sorority especially since I have not heard any bad things about our bunches of new girls! I finally was able to get my nails done again (I hadn't had them touched up since August). I love cool designs that Nancy does. If you ever need something to help you relax, get a foot message and pedicure from Sonny and let Nancy create art on your finger nails. One a completely random note (like this whole posted isn't random enough) I have acquired a taste for coffee. For some reason, I cannot function after my shower without it in the morning. I am not sure if this a good sign or not... Well, I probably do some homework because I know I won't get anything done this weekend while I am in Chicago for the marathon (don't worry, I am not running just supporting the peeps who are running 26.2 miles For The Kids).

PRAYERS NEEDED PLEASE!!!!!

Caitlyn Clark
She is a 17 year old girl who has unfortunatley had a kidney disease since she was three. Since then she has had 2 kidney transplants. One of them was last summer. She is currently back in the hospital since her body seems to be rejecting the kidney. Please send some extra thoughts and prayers to her and her family.

Lori Petrie
She was my school mom in high school. I spent many of my mornings and lunches in her office. She was also my individual speech teacher. Unfortunately, she has left us here on earth to live with the other angels. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers as they make this transistion.

Anywhooo, finals are over. I still have my online class but it shouldn't be too bad. I am sad that everyone is leaving IC. Yesterday, my little brother stopped by IC to help me move into my first apartment. Yes, I am 22 years old and have not lived in an apartment. I have lived at my parents, uncles, the dorm, and the sorority house. You can say I am finally growing up. I am really excited to live in IC for the summer!!! Whoot! Whoot!

I do not know if IC can handle MackBean for the summer! We will seee!!!!!

Friday Night Lights

Well, I have spent most of the week watching Friday Night Lights. Pretty much It is kinda funny because my high school was a lot like that. I personally think I should have been raised in the South thats for sure. There sure are some yummy country boys on that show (Tim Riggins and Matt Saracen are sooooo dreamy). I do not know why I haven't watch this before. I seriously have a small addiction to TV series. When I get interested into one, I watch it until I have seen all of the episodes. It's pretty pathetic. I have sat and watched this show allllll dayyy. 


I am pretty lame today. I have already started working on a paper that I have due on Friday. Yes, I am working on homework on a Saturday night. I will probably not get much done and will more than likely go to bed early since "I am so old" tehehehehehe. 


Well I am off to watch another episode of Friday Night Lights or two. Have a good night ya'll!!!! =]

Beautiful Weather=Sneezing Spree

The last few days have been extremely nice here in Iowa City. I have enjoyed the nice weather but today my allergies have started to take over....I sneeze all the time and have a constant running/itchy nose. I am thankful that my eyes are still bearable. 


Last night, I got to go to Raygun and see my friend Lady Katie's paintings. They looked awesome by the way. If you are free the next couple of days go to Raygun on the Ped Mall and see them. http://ladykatiepaints.blogspot.com/  


I also got to spend the evening laughing with a great group of friends while enjoying some fabulous beverages. Nights like last night remind you to stop and smell the roses (which I really can't do right now). I could not live my life without the friends that I have. Everyone of them is so special to me. Busy End of the Week and Mom's Day!

WOW! It has been a crazy couple of days. Thursday was a Leadership Exam (not fun) and Greek Week Follies (Way FUN!)...Congrats DZ!!! Good job LXA and AXiD!!!! EVERYBODY did a FABULOUS job!!! Friday was full of DM stuff! We had the dedication of the University of Iowa Dance Marathon Pediatric Oncology and Blood Disorders Research Lab. It was fun meeting all of the people and seeing the lab that DM help to create to better tomorrow!!! We also had our Exec/Chair Retreat!!! It was a blast!!! I got to again meet and get to know a lot of people! DM has an amazing leadership team for DM18!


Today is Mom's Day for the AXiDs!!! We had dinner at the Country Club in Cedar Rapids. I got a really cool basket! I love the glasses and platter that came in it!!! After dinner, my mother went to the mall. We didn't buy anything but we are going back tomorrow. We had supper at the Airliner (which is one of my favorites). After supper, we hung out downtown and now are watching Precious. I really enjoy hanging out with my mom. I miss her a lot when I am at school. I don't really want this weekend to end.

Lime Time Wednesdays!!!!

IT'S WEDNESDAY!!!! Which means it is full of Dance Marathon stuff. I started my first EIF (Event Information Form) today!!! This is a form that I will have to do tons of times this next year!!! I got to spend some time with a bunch of people that I love!! They are my rocks and share a passion for a great cause. 

I am currently in the DM office and there a bunch of craziness happening! LOVE IT!!!

Well, I do have an exam tomorrow so I should be studying....

 

A Happy Oops!

So my sorority had its formal on Saturday night and I am still paying for the consequences of having too much fun.

Ok...I know I am being a baby but this blister hurts and frankly is in a place where all of my shoes rub. It is so hard to walk normally when you just want to crawl. I did have a blast especially with friends I do not get to see that often. I'm not going to lie, I had too many adult beverages and yes, was still paying for that on Monday. I would not have changed anything from that night except maybe my shoes...

On a completely different note....I am currently trying to watch a TV show online and it does not want to play audio. I think it is a sign that I should be doing my homework...

Working at the ATO

Today has been a crazy day in the good ol'Iowa Althetic Ticket Office. Actually this semester has been pretty crazy. Between reseat of Men's and Women's Hoops and Wrestling for Carver, the Carver Renovations, water pipe burstings and no electricity, there is never a dull moment. Today we have Women's Hoops Reseat, Student Football tickets went on sale and there is still one side of a sheet of merging sitting by the computer that I started yesterday. Ooppps, hopefully I will get to it soon (probably not). I am not going to lie but I am sick of parents calling in for students...They are old enough to handle themselves. I'm just saying. To my friends you do not believe the email they recieved last night, YES student tickets are on sale! ORDER TODAY at www.hawkeyesports.com . I believe I am the ultimate worker today, I was answering student ticket questions via my text messaging, facebook chat, and my work phone all at once. *Snaps for Me* Please don't text/call/facebook/twitter me and ask...its for real....anyways Lady Katie and started Pasta Monday in the office and we tried to start Taco Tuesday but it failed today since I was the only one who brought in Mexican food. Oh well, it is really good.

Anywho...I am really excited for Hawkeye Football to start. I am not excited to deal with season tickets but am ready to attend football games in Historic Kinnick Stadium!

Well, I should probably finish eating and get ready to go to class....YAY COLLEGE!!
